2015 Community Report Card Road Show
Through our Road Show, we present community data about nine domains of well being: demographics, learning, economics, health, social life, civic engagement, built environment, natural environment, and culture and recreation. Using the Face to Face method, created by Pine View graduate, Sam Shimeck, we get people talking about issues they find interesting or want to get involved with. Click here to book a free Road Show!
Boundary Crosser Celebration
Every year, SCOPE recognizes a community member that has dedicated their life to making the community better. This year, we honored Carolyn Johnson, a civic leader, educator, businesswoman, fundraiser, philanthropist, and a 65 year resident of Sarasota. Click here to learn about our past Boundary Crossers!
Green Map
Green Map is a software that maps green living. This includes stores that sell environmentally friendly clothing, community gardens, farmers markets, car charging stations, and more. It is meant to be a community driven tool, anyone can submit a new green location to map! SCOPE is in the process of updating the Green Map for Sarasota County.
Human Service Indicator Project
SCOPE is working with the Human Services Department of Sarasota County to identify a list of outcomes for the Human Services Department, as well as the translation of those goals into measurable terms (because we’re all about data!). For example, one of the goals might be that all children have access to food, and the measurable translation would be the child food insecurity rate. Our approach to collecting this information is called results based accountability.
